The 18AM series thermal protector is a thermal protection device that is highly sensitive to both current and temperature. When connected in series in the protected circuit, when temperature and/or current increases, the heat generated is transferred to the bimetallic elements inside the thermal protector. When the preset operating temperature is reached, the bimetallic elements quickly activate, disconnecting the internal contacts and thus cutting off the power-on circuit. When the temperature of the protected circuit drops to the rated reset temperature, the bimetallic element returns to its initial state, the internal contacts close, and the protected circuit conducts again. The 18AM series thermal protectors are used in small motors, transformers, ballasts, battery protection, and other electrical equipment.
