Current sensing resistors are designed to sample current with a very low resistance value of 0.005 Ω to 0.1 Ω and very low induction, they offer a high-current, flame-proof alternative to conventional axial devices and flat chips for current-sensing circuits where space on the printed circuit board is limited. The footprint of outdoor resistance is reduced by extending the height of the device above the board, thus keeping the "hot spot" of the resistor element safely outside the printed circuit board and providing greater air circulation under it, which in turn provides greater heat dissipation and cooler operation.
