RTV2 Silicone Rubber: Two-component (A + B) condensation-type or addition-type silicone rubber is preferred. The hardness should be selected based on the size and detail requirements of the crafts – for small, delicate crafts, a hardness of 20 degrees is suitable (good flowability, easy defoaming); for larger products, a hardness of 40 degrees is suitable (strong tensile strength, not easily deformed). Its linear shrinkage rate is less than 0.3%, enabling 1:1 prototype replication. It is also resistant to high and low temperatures (-50℃ to 180℃), acids and alkalis, and has a longer service life. Curing Agent (B): Used in conjunction with liquid silicone (A). The common mixing ratio is A:B = 100:1.5~100:5 (by weight). The specific ratio must strictly follow the product instructions and can be slightly adjusted according to the ambient temperature – increase the curing agent by 0.1~0.3 parts at low temperatures (not lower than 10℃) and decrease it at high temperatures. Weighing should be done with an electronic scale to ensure accuracy. Prototype (Master Mold): Suitable for finished handicrafts, hand-carved pieces, 3D printed parts, etc. The surface must be smooth, burr-free, and free of oil stains. If the surface is rough, it needs to be polished beforehand to ensure clear replication details and avoid mold defects. Release Agent: Suitable options include Vaseline, dish soap, and specialized release agents. These are applied to the surfaces of the prototype and mold frame to facilitate subsequent separation of the silicone mold from the prototype and the resin from the silicone mold, preventing adhesion.
