FERMAG – Ferritas Magnéticas S.A. is recognized in the market for the quality of its products. The company started its activities in February 1976, aiming at the production and commercialization of special iron oxides and magnetic ferrites. Until 1980, its production focused exclusively on special iron oxides of high purity. From the 1980s on, the production of powdered magnetic ferrite began with application in the automotive, white-line and sintered parts industries. With the advent of globalization, FERMAG decided to verticalize its product line, including ferrite compounds and polymers for the manufacture of flexible magnets and magnetic profiles, aimed at the white line industry. It was then that it became the only producer in Latin America, supplying the domestic market and working in countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Chile and Peru, as well as in Europe and Egypt. From October 1998, began the development of a new product, made with the compound of ferrite and polymers: the magnetic blanket, focused on the area of visual communication. Currently, on average, the production is 200,000 meters of magnetic blankets per month, and can be expanded up to 240,000 meters monthly, making it the largest Latin American producer of magnetic blankets. With a production capacity of 4,000 tons/month of its products, FERMAG has two manufacturing units in Itabira (MG), in the Praia and Industrial District neighborhood, and three others in distribution, in São Paulo (SP), in Belo Horizonte (MG) and in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). Such high production numbers and the huge range of customers require modern quality promotion practices and tools. In order to ensure reliability and competitiveness, it remains in the continuous search for efficiency, quality and satisfaction of customers, employees and partners. For this, an organizational restructuring program was adopted, implementing ISO-9001 and the Total Quality System with business vision and focus on constant improvement of production, FERMAG grows in numbers and satisfaction.
