For better results in the farming business, these parts are made of either micro-alloyed steels or with steels having high contents of carbon.<br><br>PLOUGH DISCS<br> METISA: Meeting the most varying requirements: To meet the requirements of several applications in different types of equipment and ground, METISA´s ploughing, harrowing and leveling disc blades are available in various designs, such as concave or flat, corrugated, wavy or ripple, all of them in a wide range of sizes, having the most varying hole arrangements, made of micro-alloyed boron steels or with high contents of carbon.<br><br> Cross-rolling: METISA´s plough discs have a good reputation among the largest agricultural machinery manufacturers in the world because they really meet the most demanding requirements. All of the discs are made of cross-rolled steel plates, i.e. the steel is rolled in alternated directions, so that the finished disc will wear more evenly in the radial perimeter and will be less prone to braking when submitted to high-strain work. This is so true because other discs available in the market, made of regular steel plates (single-direction rolling) tend to have an uneven radial wearing because their grain is oriented in a single direction, which gives them good resistance in one direction, but less resistance in other directions.<br><br> Ball Test: Ball test is an essay applied to the raw materials to make sure they have been cross-rolled, which is an imperative requirement for the making of plough discs. The test consists of applying load to a 1” (25,4 mm) ball, causing it to go through a pre-drilled hole of ½” (12,7 mm) in the material. As a result, any cracks should not exceed a diameter of 3" (76,2mm).
