Currently, coal slime flotation collectors commonly used in coal washing plants have drawbacks such as weak collection capacity and low clean coal extraction rate, especially for difficult-to-float coals, where the flotation effect is poor. The misuse of low-flash-point, toxic, odorous, and even carcinogenic products seriously threatens the health of employees and the safety of enterprise production. In collaboration with China University of Mining and Technology, we have developed a collector that is non-toxic, odorless, and has a high flash point, certified by a third party. It significantly improves the clean coal extraction rate without increasing reagent costs; the effect is even more pronounced for difficult-to-float coals. The improved product can also be used for oxidative coal flotation, breaking through internationally recognized flotation taboos. This achievement won the first-level award of the 2024 Coal Science and Technology Innovation Achievement Transfer and Transformation Project of the China Coal Industry Association. Our products have been successfully applied in numerous coal preparation plants across China, including the Linhuan Coal Preparation Plant of Huaibei Mining Group, Asia's largest coking coal preparation plant.
