platinum-made devices offer greater resistance to high temperatures (1.769ºc) and low vapor pressure and without contaminating the material analyzed because of its stability to chemical attack and great resistance to strong acids such as hydrofluoric (this may be combined with sulfuric or nitric) and also its stability and constancy of weight after prolonged glowing, which are not exceeded by any other metallic material.
