Description
Kola nuts are small brown nuts (roughly the same size as chestnuts) found inside the star-shaped fruits that grow on kola trees, a species of tree native to West Africa.
Each nut is packed with caffeine, so when they are eaten fresh they have a somewhat bitter taste. However, dried kola nuts have a much milder flavour and boast a delightful aroma comparable to nutmeg.
Kola nuts are prized in West Africa for their stimulant effects: one nut contains more caffeine than two cups of coffee, so it's not surprising that it is common for people to chew the nuts to get their daily caffeine kick!
Please note, Kola nut has its season, inorder to supply all year round we have to store and cover the kolanuts with its leaves which might make the outer layer of your kolanuts brown when received. this can be washed off easily.
