Power Capacitor
Power Capacitors are mainly suitable for 50Hz or 60Hz AC power systems to improve power factor. Reduce reactive power losses, improve voltage quality, and fully utilize the efficiency of power generation and supply equipment. It is an energy-saving product recommended by the country.
Working conditions:
1. The altitude does not exceed 1000m, the ambient temperature is -40/B, and the maximum temperature for Class B is+45 ℃.
2. The installation site is free from severe mechanical vibrations, harmful gases and vapors, and conductive or explosive dust.
3. Power Capacitors should be ensured to operate under good ventilation conditions and are not allowed to operate under closed and unventilated conditions.
4. The wiring of capacitors should use flexible wires, and the entire circuit should have good contact.
Structural features:
1. The Power capacitor consists of a box shell and a core. The box shell is sealed and welded with thin steel plates, and the box shell is welded with an outgoing porcelain sleeve. The two sides of the box wall are welded with hanging brackets for installation, and one side of the hanging bracket is equipped with a grounding bolt.
2. The Power capacitor core is composed of several components and insulating parts stacked together. The components are made of composite media or full film media sandwiched between two aluminum foils as electrode plates, which are rolled and flattened. The components in the core are connected in a certain series or parallel manner to meet the requirements of different voltages and capacities.
3.Power Capacitors with internal fuses have a fuse in series with each component. When a component breaks down, the intact component connected in parallel discharges it, causing the fuse to quickly melt in milliseconds, cutting off the faulty component and allowing the capacitor to continue operating.

7. Maximum allowable overvoltage: not exceeding 8 hours per 24 hours at 1.1 times the rated voltage, not exceeding 30 minutes per 24 hours at 1.15 times the rated voltage, not exceeding 5 minutes at 1.2 times the rated voltage, and not exceeding 1 minute at 1.3 times the rated voltage.
8. Maximum allowable current: The allowable current for operation shall not exceed 1.3 times the rated current, and the transient overcurrent shall not exceed 1.43 times the rated current considering the effects of overvoltage, capacitor positive deviation, and harmonics.

Ordering and usage instructions:
1. The selection of the rated voltage of capacitors must be based on the network voltage, considering that the input of capacitors will raise the voltage. Therefore, when selecting the rated voltage of capacitors, it should be at least 5% higher than the network voltage; When a reactor is connected in series in a capacitor circuit, the terminal voltage of the capacitor will increase correspondingly with the reactance rate of the connected reactor. Therefore, when selecting the rated voltage of the capacitor, it should be determined based on the reactance rate of the connected reactor after calculation.
2. Capacitors are low impedance channels for harmonics. Under harmonics, a large amount of harmonics will be injected into the capacitor, causing overcurrent or overvoltage. In addition, capacitors can amplify harmonics and even resonate, endangering the safety of the power grid and greatly shortening the life of capacitors. Therefore, capacitors must be used in series with reactors that suppress harmonics when dealing with harmonics.
3. When a capacitor is closed, the inrush current can reach hundreds of times the rated current of the capacitor. Therefore, the switch for switching capacitors should be a switch without heavy breakdown. To suppress the closing inrush current, a reactor can also be connected in series to suppress the inrush current.
4. After disconnecting the capacitor with discharge resistor from the power supply, the rated voltage peak can drop below 75V within 10 minutes. If it is required to drop from the rated voltage peak to below 50V within 5 minutes after disconnecting the power supply, it should be specified when ordering.
5. The Power capacitor used for line compensation should be installed at a voltage of 150-200kvar, and attention should be paid not to install the capacitor on the same platform as the transformer, and not to use the same group of drops, in order to prevent current overvoltage caused by ferromagnetic resonance during non full phase operation of the line, which may damage the capacitor and transformer.
6. The selection of zinc oxide lightning arrester for protecting operation overvoltage should use capacitor specific zinc oxide lightning arrester, and it is best to install it between the capacitor poles.
7. Quick break protection should use capacitor specific fuses, and the rated current should be selected as 1.43-1.5 times the rated current of the capacitor.
8. When a Power capacitor is directly connected in parallel with a high-voltage motor, in order to prevent self excitation when the motor is disconnected from the power supply, which may cause the voltage at the capacitor terminals to rise above the rated value, the rated current of the capacitor must be less than 90% of the no-load current of the motor; When the motor adopts Y/△ wiring, it is not allowed to directly connect the capacitor to the motor in parallel, and a special wiring method should be adopted.
