Sol da Praia Ice Cream was born in 2007, through a conversation between two family members, about the possibility of realizing an old dream of working in the ice cream and popsicles business, as well as their parents.
With great vision and a small investment at the outset, the two became partners and opened a small factory on the roof of their own home in Belford Roxo, lower Rio de Janeiro, where only six people were producing and looking for customers who could invest for the growth of the company. At this time, only the traditional flavors such as chocolate, strawberry, grape, among others, were worked by the company, which produced approximately 1,200 popsicles a day.
Gradually, the brand was conquering consumers around the lowland and being known for more distant areas, forcing partners to move twice in just three years, because the production capacity could no longer meet the intensity of sales.
In 2010, the partnership between the two family members was broken, but the brand continued to progress and currently, besides having resellers for almost all of Rio de Janeiro, also has in Niterói, Copacabana, Rocinha, Rio das Ostras, Angra dos Kings, among others.
Nowadays, Sol da Praia Ice Cream has more than 20 regular employees, production that has grown over 1000% in recent years, fleet of refrigerated trucks to serve its distributors, 27 flavors of popsicles, ice cream and acai, as well as a huge dealer list, which sells ice cream and popsicles in much of Rio de Janeiro.
