COC plastic is the trade name of cycloolefin copolymer (COC) developed by TOPAS ADVANCED POLYMERSGmbH. It is an amorphous transparent polymer with a cyclic olefin structure.

As a multifunctional packaging material, COC plastic material resin TOPAS® is widely used in many fields for its excellent properties such as water vapor barrier, aroma retention, deadfold and so on.
In addition, it is soluble in PE (especially LLDPE) and can be mixed in any proportion, so it can be used as a PE modification agent.
The innovative Standing pouch is increasingly being used in areas such as detergents and food.
To enable the stand bag to stand on its own, the outer film should have a certain strength (thickness).
If TOPAS® is added to the PE sealing layer, the overall rigidity of the film can be maintained while achieving thin-walled outer film and effectively reduce the amount of packaging materials.
TOPAS® is a water vapor barrier material suitable for PTP.
It improves thermal formability, keeps corner thickness uniform, and improves rigidity so that thin-walled can be achieved.
In addition, nearly all TOPAS® grades are registered in the U.S. FDA Drug Management Documentation (DMF #12132) and FDA Device Management Documentation (MAF #1043), so they can be safely used when packaging medical products.
PET bottle shrink label is mainly PET or PS, but also a part of the olefin resin.
The addition of TOPAS® to the olefin controls the shrinkage characteristics (velocity, shrinkage rate) and is therefore particularly effective for the manufacture of special-shaped bottles.
In addition, the advantages of olefin films lie in their excellent low temperature impact and elasticity.
Some countries in Europe have adopted olefin films from the point of view of recyclability (bottles and films can be distinguished by specific gravity difference).
Hot tack index is used to show the viscosity of the sealing part in the molten state after the sealing.
When this value is low, the bottom will crack if the contents are filled just after sealing.
The incorporation of TOPAS® improves thermal sealing performance, resulting in improved productivity.
Stretchless films of LLDPE and LDPE are usually sticky and difficult to open by hand.
By incorporating TOPAS® this method can control the tear strength (Elmendorf) and make it easy to cut and linear cut.
