Membracel – Porous Regenerating Membrane is a crystalline cellulose membrane synthesized by the bacterium Acetobacter xylinum, with artificially developed porosity to allow exudate drainage. Composed of intertwined cellulose microfibrils of indefinite lengths, the porous cellulose membranes have a fine texture and uniform structure. These characteristics allow for the protection of skin lesions and promote tissue regeneration by accelerating the formation of granulation tissue with subsequent epithelialization. Expected action of the product: pain relief, wound protection, drainage of secretions, reduction of the area exposed to infectious agents, and acceleration of the healing process. The Porous Regenerating Membrane works as a temporary skin substitute and is indicated for the treatment of lesions resulting from the loss of epithelium that are characterized as superficial or deep skin wounds, with scarce or abundant exudation, such as: second-degree burns, dermabrasions, abrasions, skin graft recipient and donor areas, nail beds (post-nail excision), varicose stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers, pressure ulcers, plantar perforating wounds, epidermolysis bullosa, post-physical cauterization (cryotherapy, thermocauterization, CO2 and Erbium laser).
