An air hammer is a type of free forging equipment, mainly composed of a frame, transmission mechanism, compression cylinder and working cylinder, compression piston, falling part, air distribution mechanism and anvil. The compression cylinder compresses air and sends it to the working cylinder through the distribution valve, pushing the piston and hammer head to move up and down to perform the hammering action. 2. The equipment is flexible in operation and suitable for various free forging processes, such as stretching, upsetting, punching, shearing, forging welding, twisting, and bending. Various open-die forgings can be performed using a die pad. IV. Main Performance Characteristics of the Machine Tool: The electric motor drives the compression piston of the compression cylinder up and down through a reduction mechanism, crank, and connecting rod, generating compressed air. When the upper and lower air passages of the compression cylinder are open to the atmosphere, compressed air does not enter the working cylinder, the motor idles, and the hammer does not work. By operating the upper and lower rotary valves via the handle or foot pedal, compressed air enters the upper or lower part of the working cylinder, pushing the working piston up and down, thereby driving the hammer and upper whetstone to rise or fall, completing various striking actions. There are four connection methods between the rotary valve and the two cylinders, which can produce four actions: hammer lifting, continuous striking, downward pressing, and idling.
